Meet the Staff

Dr. Arthur Eleftherio was born and raised in Fitchburg, Massachussetts. He received his doctorate from the New England College of Optometry. After achieving his doctoral degree he opened an office in his home town of Fitchburg. A year after he opened his office he was drafted into the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Dr. Eleftherio was the 12th Optometrist commissioned in the Army. He served as an Optometrist at various Army hospitals including the Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, D.C. and the Rader Army Clinic in Arlington, VA. During his length of service he achieved the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. Upon retirement from the Army, he opened his office in Falls Church, Va. Dr. Eleftherio is a Fellow of the College of Optometrists in Vision Development (FCOVD). He is a member of the American Optometric Association, Virginia Optometric Association and the Optometric Extension Program Foundation. He was awarded for his service and commitment to children by the Parents Active for Vision Education(PAVE). His specialties include: diagnosis and treatment of eye diseases, Lasik surgery management, Vision therapy, contact lenses, low vision, fitting and adjustment of gas permeable lenses, in addition to many other areas. He also participates in the InfantSEE program. Dr. Eleftherio is an avid golfer and plays whenever he gets the chance.

Susan Bodnar was born in Fairfax, Virginia and grew up in Falls Church, Virginia. She received her Optician's License from the state of Virginia upon her graduation from George C. Marshall High School. Susan has worked alongside Dr. Eleftherio for over 30 years. She is an expert at assembling and repairing glasses, frame selection, and frame adjustments. Susan is dedicated to making our patients happy. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her children and is an avid Capitals fan.

Hala Berjaoui was born in Beirut, Lebanon. She moved to America when she was 2 years old. She is a graduate of George Mason University and has a degree in Psychology. Hala has been a devoted employee of our practice, only taking time off to care for her children when they were young. She speaks fluent Arabic. She enjoys spending her time with her family and friends, reading, and exercising.
